We are trying to boost longevity since immemorial times
The extensive advancements in medicine and nutrition come as a result of 2 simple aspects: people are trying to acquire healthier lifestyles and to boost longevity as much as possible. You can see the results by analyzing the statistics of the last 500 years. Life expectancy was about 30 to 35 years several hundred years ago, with many dying around the age of 25.

Can broccoli boost longevity?
One’s lifespan, regardless of what remedy we might find in the future, depends on several aspects. It does not matter what pill or type of food you are supposed to eat if your life is a mess anyway. This is because, when looking to boost longevity, you need to take into consideration the following aspects:

According to specialists, it contains a compound called nicotinamide mononucleotide, which is responsible for boosting energy levels. This compound, shortly named NMN has been found to increase metabolism in lab mice and that is not all. Aside from this, it considerably lowered weight gain associated with age, it improved eyesight and it also balanced the blood sugar levels. These factors combined led the scientists to an unexpected conclusion: broccoli is probably the most important of the foods that boost longevity.
Obviously, the test results were only conclusive on mice and there are still further tests needed to be done before taking it on humans, but the initial results are exciting, to say the least. Researchers hope that, in the near future, they might be able to extract the NMN from broccoli and launch supplements that could boost longevity, increase metabolism and keep the organism in a younger and more active state.
Until then, all we can do is wait and hope.
