In ancient societies fasting after winter season helped people to shed extra fat layers, they accumulated to keep warm and consequently ‘lighten up’ to be comfortable in warmer seasons.

Though a ‘water only’ fast results in the most rapid cleansing of body toxins, it can be quite dangerous for many people. Apart from depriving the body of vital nutrients even for a short period, there is also the grave risk of heart failure that may result from an only water diet.

3 Day detoxification plan

Dr. Page offers a more involved solution and alternative. Even someone with a very busy schedule can easily follow this detoxification program. You can start it on a Friday and follow it through Saturday to Sunday night. ‘You can start on a Friday night eating a green salad.

Then on Saturday you treat your body with plenty of vitamin C. Ideally a fruit juice with high water content for flushing out quicker. The green things are for energy and natural sugars from fruit for washing the system quicker and easier’ she says. ‘Dinner may consist of miso soup, chopped sea vegetables made like the Japanese’ sushi. You may even have a cup of brown rice with chopped vegetables mixed.

With this advice Dr. Page also recommends the use of certain cleansing boosters to further strengthen the body cleansing process.
